A cutting edge piece of instrumentation that enables the user to separate a mixture of compounds by liquid chromatography and then determine their individual d13C values as they elute from the chromatographic system via an online oxidation process. The only caveat is the the mobile phase must be aqueous with no organic buffers. The system comprises a ThermoFisher Scientific Surveyor LC coupled via an LCIsoLink interface to a Delta V Plus isotope ratio mass spectrometer.
The analyte mixture must be able to be separated under completely aqueous LC conditions.
