A dedicated high pressure liquid chromatograph system, with autosampler and PDA detector, connected via an electrospray interface or atmospheric pressure chemical ionisation interface to a triple quadrupole mass analyser. Typically setup to run normal phase separations for determination of the TEX86 palaeotemperature proxy.
Samples must be amenable to liquid chromatography although direct infusion analyses are also possible.
